What needs to be done after passing the trial examination?
After passing the trial examination, the examinee will immediately be informed by the center director and the traffic representative to pay teh License Fees after 3 days of passing. After online payment, the examinee can receive the online voucher. After paying the revenue, the record of examinee lists to Department of Transport Management for the smart card printout. After receiving the SMS confirming the print of the card, the individual can personally visit the office to collect the card.
Note: After passing the practical exam (trial), the revenue must be paid within 12 months.

If the trial examination is unsuccessful, when and how many times can one retake the exam?
If unsuccessful, a person can retake the practical exam twice within 90 days.

Please note that urgent retrial examinations can be requested for other days by submitting an application to the office chief.
If a person with an existing license wishes to add additional categories, an online form can be filled through the official website. The form must be submitted in person at the office room number 2, and a health examination must be conducted. After the health examination, online payment or cash payment at Room No. 4, and obtaining receipt from Room No. 3, is required. Then the applicant can attend trial test in notified day and time.
In case of any errors or omissions in the driver's license, the concerned person must be present in person at the respective office for verification. After receiving the application and verifying the information, corrections can be made as required.
In case of losing the driver's license, a duplicate can be obtained by submitting a letter received from the Traffic Police Office in the district where the driver resides. Subsequently, with the necessary documents attached, the driver can personally submit a request for a duplicate license at the office.
In what circumstances can a duplicate copy of the driver's license be obtained?
A duplicate copy of the driver's license can be obtained in the event of loss, theft, damage, or for any other reason. According to the rules, if the driver's license is lost, stolen, damaged, or for any reason, the concerned person must report to the traffic office within seven days. The duplicate copy will be issued after receiving a recommendation letter from the Kathmandu Sub-Metropolitan Traffic Police Office.

When should the driver's license renewal be done?
The expiration date of the driver's license is printed on the card itself. Renewal must be done within 90 days from the expiration of the mentioned expiry date. Failure to renew within 90 days will result in penalties.
What are the fees for driver's license renewal?
The renewal fees for driver's licenses are as follows:
- Large vehicles: NPR 3,000/-
- Medium-sized vehicles: NPR 2,500/-
- Small vehicles: NPR 2,000/-
- Motorcycles, scooters: NPR 1,500/-
Note: If a driver holds permission to drive multiple categories of vehicles under one license, the highest applicable fee for the category is charged.
What are the consequences of not renewing the driver's license on time?
If the driver's license renewal is not done within 90 days after the expiration, additional penalties will be imposed. After the initial 90 days, penalties will increase by 100% for up to one year, 200% for up to two years, 300% for up to three years, 400% for up to four years, and 500% for up to five years, along with other penalties.
The driver's license renewal is valid for five years. Failure to renew within five years will result in automatic cancellation.
