At what age is one eligible to obtain a driver's license?

According to Section 51 (a, b, c) of the Provincial Transport and Traffic Management Act, 2075:

  1. For a large vehicle: 21 years of age must be completed.
  2. For medium and small vehicles: 18 years of age must be completed.
  3. For cars, jeeps, and vehicles with two axles: 16 years of age must be completed.

Who is not eligible to obtain a driver's license from a health perspective?

A person is not eligible to obtain a driver's license if they:

  1. Are incapable of driving due to physical or mental disorders.
  2. Have weakened eyesight, even with the use of glasses, to the extent that normal vision is not restored.
  3. Cannot hear normal sounds, signals, or voices.
  4. Have color blindness, making it difficult to distinguish between red, green, yellow, etc.
  5. Have a congenital disability but are not eligible for a license with specific modifications.
  6. Have not reached the basic level of education.
  7. Have had their driver's license canceled according to Section 65.

Regarding Health Examination: A health examination will be conducted by doctors recognized by the Government of Nepal for the health-related aspects mentioned above.
